They then grouped those ten into four types of resolutions, Self improvement or education related, weight related, money related, and relationship related.

Three Requirements of Positive Change

As we enter into a new year, it is common for each of us to search our hearts and minds for guidance toward new directions in our life. Over time this soul searching that develops into the conviction for an en route path of change has become known as a New Year Resolution. For all of us who has honorably and with the best of intentions, set a new course for our life only to see the road eventually wind back around to the familiar and well-worn ruts of previous years; fear not, the solution is not as difficult as it may seem. When a Solution Becomes a Problem

It is said, “We are creatures of habit” and rightly so for mankind is merely a more intelligent creature but a creature none the less. As one of nature’s creatures we respond to threats, fears, and problems in much the same way as all creatures with one exception…we have the mental capacity to learn from, adapt to, and develop techniques used in solving problems.

It is the responsibility of the leader of a business, a family, or a team to teach their disciples that these lessons are critical. To be effective in this role as teacher, we must understand these principles, be able to communicate them, and transfer the required skills in a way that is easily remembered.  One proven technique is storytelling.  A good story can emphasize the message, embed the lessons, and enhances interest in sharing of the content with others.    Continue reading “When a Solution Becomes a Problem”
