The Natural Laws of Positive Change

Most of the people that I know, value the truth.  The problem is that the truth can be difficult to discern.  In an effort to weed out the falsehoods of any problem one only needs to turn to history and ever present Natural Laws of our planet.  Natural laws are the eternal truths.  They never change so they are always dependable.  They never lie so they can always be relied upon in every situation.

Take one of the most challenging issues people face; making positive changes in their life.  We all struggle with change because we are creatures of habit.  These habits take hold of our life because of one of the natural laws; The Law of Action.  This law says that we only do things for three reasons; to increase pleasure, avoid pain or for the love of another. Whenever we find an area in our life that we feel needs to be changed the Law of Action must be dealt with.  We used this law to form the bad habits so we have to use this same law to form the new and positive habit.  Think of this law as the “why” behind the “what” I want to change.

To aid us in doing this, we must use other laws that build on the Law of Action.  The Law of Positive Change creates the blueprint for fighting the pull of old habits.  The Law of Positive Change lays out three requirements needed to affect the changes we seek.  First, we must have a burning desire.  A burning desire to change, to reach the pleasure associated with the change and hopefully fueled by the love and support of others.  Second, the willingness to apply daily effort.  Change requires constant repetitious actions which will become the foundation of the new habit.  And third, we must be patient and allow time for the habit to take hold.  This law is the “how” behind the “why” I want to change.

Finally, we must rely on another law; The Law of the Stages of Time.  There are three stages of time; Past, Present and Future.  No more, no less.  This law supports all life on the planet.  It also pairs well with the Law of Positive Change.  The requirements of the Law of Positive Change unite with the Stages of Time.

Requirements of Positive Change                                  Stages of Time

A Burning Desire                                                                    Future

Daily Effort                                                                                Present

Passage of Time                                                                       Past

Even with the support and guidance of the natural laws, we still will struggle to make positive changes in our lives but with these laws, change is always possible.

If this is my last post, I want all to know there was only one purpose for all that I have written; to have made a positive difference in the lives of others.

It All Starts With A Dream

We all dream.

Sometimes they come to us unsolicited in our sleep; at other times we are wide awake, spurring on their existence.  Some dreams are remember vividly while others are never to be recalled. The storylines can vary greatly and need not be based on truth or even be realistic.  For millennium we have tried to determine their importance and in some regards they remain a mystery. However, there are a few universal facts controlled by the Power of the Wisdom of Three that are relevant in our lives and provides information that deserve our understanding as we consider New Year resolutions and business planning.    Continue reading “It All Starts With A Dream”

Positive Change Always Requires a Price Paid in Advance

After many years of research and countless interviews on the topic of wise decision making, this picture sums up my findings nicely.

In the study of the lives of people who openly admit that they had tremendous struggles in their life and through deep personal reflection, we can usually pinpoint the single initial choice that started much of the discord.  The pivotal questions that I routinely ask are,

“What other choices did you consider at that moment in time?”

“Did you consider at the time, that one of the other choices would have been the right or even a better choice?”
