The Death of America’s Common Sense

We are gathered here today to remember an old and faithful servant of the people of the United States of America.  For years people have been saying “Common Sense is not very common anymore.” but I am not sure if everyone fully realizes how true that statement really is.

Common Sense has been with America since its founding.  Most, if not all, of the drafters of the Bill of Rights and the Constitution of the United States signed these documents only after the words had the approval of Common Sense.  For centuries Common Sense was the voice of the people.  Leaders from all walks of life understood that for this Country to grow, prosper and last; it would require the unifying power of Common Sense.

Today, the number of community heads, government officials and even church organizers (in honor of Common Sense, I refrain from calling them leaders) have chosen to shun this leader’s friend in numbers never before seen.  Not because of anything Common Sense has done, but instead as a way to distance the citizens from what Common Sense stands for.  The recent decline in Common Sense’s health can be attributed to the introduction of a third gender, the moral decline evident in public programming, crazy ideas “made true” on social media such as the defunding of our local police and most recently the idea that looting and rioting against innocent people is a citizen’s right if they are angry enough.

The facts are that the endurance of Common Sense is no longer possible with the mindset of the vast majority of this country.  People no longer want to be inconvenienced by the truth spoken by Common Sense.  We have too many people with varying agendas, biases and beliefs who no longer wish to come together under a single value system provided by Common Sense.  Suffering a senseless death by neglect because too many people rely on their own shaded “truths” with no willingness to even consider bringing Common Sense to the table.

For those citizens who have shared a relationship with Common Sense and has been caring for Common Sense through the years, we have analyzed the various forms of human communication and observed the public interaction only to admit that the time has come for us to formally declare; Common Sense is officially dead in the United States of America.

With the death of this “truthful servant”, this Country is literally at an intersection of crossroads; we will either take the path that divide us further as a Nation or we will, together, journey down the road that brings us back to unity and the birth of a new herald of truth.

I pray that this idolization of off the wall views has not endured for so long that our reversal back toward our historic single national value is still possible.  Once more our thoughts, words and deeds as a Country; must each loudly proclaim our common shared belief that we are still, “One Nation under God”.

If this is my last post, I want all to know there was only one purpose for all that I have written; to have made a positive difference in the lives of others.
