“Each new generation exists solely through the wisdom of every previous generation.”
Anthony “Tony” Boquet, A Modern Solutionary
I am one of the many who were classified as a Baby Boomer; a moniker given to the generation of babies born after World War II in a unprecedented BOOM. It is estimated that over 4 million babies were born each year between 1946 and 1964. This generation had the privilege of beginning to learn leadership skills at home from an early age. With families being the size of small sports teams, we were tested in fire. Now, with Boomers aging, as a group, we have amassed the most education, a broad array of experiences and built deep ethical and moral values compliments of our parents, The Greatest Generation. These three-character traits are the requirements needed to make wise decisions. The Boomers have become the mature purveyors of wisdom for our country; which can be good or bad, depending on the how many of us, are willing to apply this knowledge. The knowledge that our parents deemed, common sense.
Reflecting on this great pool of knowledge, as we prepare for a pivotal election, our Country should be in the best leadership position imaginable. I have said many times, leadership is where everything starts and ends but the leader’s success is marked by what’s in the middle. Any successful leader requires the support of those impacted by the ramifications of the leader’s thoughts, words and actions. Without their acceptance the leader will fail; without a leader the group becomes splintered.
This statement infers that, at least in today’s America, every follower has the freedom to act on their own; in accordance with or against the wishes of the leader. America was founded on Judeo-Christian values and beliefs; evident by the writings of the framers of our Constitution. These main beliefs are highlighted in the three rights of this living document; Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. These rights ensure our freedom bestowed by our Creator and protected by our Constitution. This is why our Republic has survived the test of time; we remain a faith bounded free people who has the authority to control the powers of our elected representatives and, in most cases, the other leaders we report to as well.
As with all authority comes the weight of responsibility. It is my belief that this is the shared price of freedom because this responsibility rests solely on each voting age citizen and should be borne proudly but with much thought and purpose. Consider if every citizen who chooses not to vote were required to relinquish their liberties, would they do so? Sadly, too many times whether they acknowledge it or not, that is exactly what happens and not only do they lose precious freedoms; so, do we all.
Unlike in previous elections, the people of these United States have clear evidence that one party is being controlled by a socialist agenda. This is a death knell to our Constitution, our authority over government and the freedoms we enjoy. When the day comes that we turn over our authority to our elected officials, we cease to be free. This is the fundamental difference between our Republic and that of a Socialistic society. When any elected representatives can set the standards for the people; there will be no incentive to go beyond that standard. We will finally all be equal to suffer in mediocrity. As a matter of fact, if you do excel it will be at your detriment; you will be viewed as evil for merely having more than others; regardless of the price you paid to earn it. The question then becomes; “How and why do free people chose to relinquish their freedoms?”
It is done over time with the use of fear through the control of the public messaging. People all naturally react in much the same way as all other creatures when faced with an immediate and conceived threat. To avoid pain and more so to preserve life, man will choose the solution they believe to be best at the time. The socialist politicians always will paint government as your only reasonable solution to the threat. During the most recent circumstances, we were not given much time to think through our choices but as time passes, the wise began to see the other choices. The truth seekers know; there are always more and better choices than turning over your authority.
As older people who have experience many trials, we know that when we make a less than wise decision there will always be those waiting to pray on our misfortune. The carrion is always waiting even when we make the wisest of choices but their opportunities multiple when we are weakened by bad decisions, a discouraged heart, or weariness from the fight brought on by uncontrolled emotions. That is why we should ask each citizen to vote not with emotion but with their values at the heart of their decision. The people we view emotionally as the most favorable do not always have our best interest at heart and those who the socialist hate the most, will always be our most valuable ally.
If this is my last post, I want all to know there was only one purpose for all that I have written; to have made a positive difference in the lives of others.
