The Three Positions of Transit

“Triangular in concept, a law you must know; Linear in sight, on your mark, get set, Go!  What am I?”

Signal LightIf you said a traffic light you are correct.  Just like riddles, sometimes life can be confusing and vague.  That is why I believe our Maker gave us so many natural laws tied to the Wisdom of Three; we need simple guides to make our complex lives easier to navigate through.  These laws are undeniable, unchangeable, and unquestionable anywhere in the world.

So why focus on the traffic light?

In 1920, a police officer in Detroit, Michigan developed the three color lights we use today.  In an effort to reduce the ever increasing risks of accidents presented by the growing number of vehicles on the roads, he used the simple power behind the Wisdom of Three.  This Solutionary understood the problem and determined that there were only three positions needing to be controlled; the driver had to know when to stop the car, be warned in advance when to stop, and when it would be safe to go again.

Brilliant!  I wonder if Officer William Potts knew the rest of the story.  You see, not only is his solution applicable to the traffic problems of intersections, its meaning goes much deeper and can help to direct the traffic of our personal lives too.

The lights positions and colors are arranged uniformly so that wherever you may be you will be familiar with the patterns. The first light is the red one.  This position holds substantial meaning in the universe.  The number one means singular.  When applied to the driver of a vehicle it means you or self.  When I am driving and I see a red light I know that “I” must stop.  Red is the uniformed color for the word stop.  An interesting thing that Officer Potts probably did not know was that selfishness is the single offense that we have to stop in order to avoid all other offenses.  It we could ever “stop” our selfish flaws we would break no laws, have no disobedience, or civil unrest.  This is why; in the Wisdom of Three, selfishness is the number one problem that Solutionaries must be aware of.

The second position is the amber light or caution.  The number two means to share; picture two people holding hands.  In this position we must be ready to do our part to protect each other from an accident.  The number two also represents the potential for loss so caution must be taken.

Position number three is the green or go light. The most powerful number in the universe, the third position means power…the power to move.  It also means community.  When the light turns green, all the cars begin to move as one; as a community.  The color green represents a new start or growth.  We cannot have a new start if we do not move forward.

Remember the riddle at the start of this article; triangular in concept?  Picture a vertical traffic light in your mind.  Now, picture one light at the first position, two lights side by side in the second and three lights in the third position.  Do you see the perfect triangle?  The triangle is the strongest structure in the universe and the basis of the Wisdom of Three.

the-wisdom-of-three-the-law-of-the-flowOnce again, the natural laws created through the power of the Wisdom of Three helps us to solve our problems.  Next time you see a traffic light, I hope you think differently and reflect on the Wisdom of Three in your life.

If this is my last post, I want all to know there was only one purpose for all that I have written; to have made a positive difference in the lives of others.
